A .COM should not cost a fortune in its first year. Three registrars currently sell first-year .COM registrations at or under ₹400-class pricing with a code — here is how they really compare once you include renewal and privacy.
The three deals
- BigRock — DODOFFER: .COM at ₹399 first year, new customers. Renewal ₹999/yr.
- GoDaddy — CJCFOSSIG3: 99% off year one when bought on a 3-year term; effectively the cheapest multi-year route.
- Namecheap — NEWCOM679: .COM at $6.79 (~₹570) first year, but free WHOIS privacy forever, which BigRock and GoDaddy charge for on some TLDs.
The renewal trap
The first-year price is a handshake; the renewal price is the relationship. Before you register, check the registrar’s renewal rate for .COM (typically ₹900–₹1,400/yr in India). If you plan to keep the domain for 5+ years, GoDaddy’s 3-year code bundle usually works out cheapest overall. If you value privacy and a clean dashboard, Namecheap’s slightly higher entry price is worth it.
Quick decision guide
